Press release from the Rapids today:
The Colorado Rapids announced today a trade with Toronto FC in which Colorado receives allocation money in exchange for midfielder Jacob Peterson.
Per club and league policies, financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Peterson, originally drafted by Colorado with the ninth pick in the second round of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft, recorded eight goals and five assists appearing in 92 games for the Rapids. The four-year veteran from Indiana University played in 23 games last season, scoring two goals and adding two assists before suffering a torn ACL in his right knee on Sept. 23 and missing the remainder of the season.

i like this move, i think Peterson WAS a nice change-of-pace off the bench, but he only did one thing well - speed. His ACL injury will have an impact on his speed, and if you slow Peterson down he becomes very average.
He wasn't a very good finisher when given the opportunity either. like i said, he was a lot of energy off the bench, maybe he'll get more chances in Toronto.

Revs-Rapids deal is just waiting for the rubber stamp - Larentowicz/Thompson to Rapids, Burpo/Gibbs + pick + cash to New England.?
Hey Brian, good to hear from you. Not sure on the New England trade rumors but I do think Gibbs is expendable and Larentowicz seems to be a consistent performer. I don't know enough yet about Thompson. I agree with you on Peterson.
I am a bit sad to see Peterson go but at the same time I do understand the reasons why we would let him go as Brian stated.
As far as other player moves go, it seems like Mr. Smith is slowly gaining more control over players and looks to be brining in guys that he wants and hopefully that want him. With lots of trialists and now an active trade market it will be interesting to see what kind of team comes together.
